It's a busy time of year at the Boise Bicycle Project, and a new partnership will help keep children safe out on the roads.

Primary Health Medical Group is supplying helmets for all youth who receive a bike in 2017.

The protective gear even comes with reflective stickers for nigh time use.

Bicycle giveaways at BBP are done on a monthly basis, and each recipient always rolls out with safety training and a helmet.

"Every kid leaves here with a smile, and I see these bikes all over town... at the grocery store, the library, at their school," says Adam Smith, BBP Youth Educator. "So, it's definitely empowering kids to get out in the community and enjoy what Boise has to offer."

Besides free bikes for youngsters, the non-profit also facilitates a Earn a Bike program for older youth where they also learn how to maintain and repair their bike.
