The Canyon County Coroner’s Office performed an autopsy Tuesday on a 5-month-old girl who died at a local hospital after being found in a locked car Saturday, but it may be a week or two yet before officials can determine the exact cause of death.

“Some of the findings that would determine cause of death are not yet visible, so we’re needing to conduct tissue and metabolism tests,” said Canyon County Coroner Vickie Degeus-Morris.

Canyon County dispatchers received a 911 call late Saturday afternoon of an infant unattended in a vehicle. Reports say the infant was unresponsive when paramedics arrived on the scene in the 400 block of Cleveland Blvd. in Caldwell.

Officials identified the infant as Kyrae Vineyard.

The Caldwell Police Department is investigating the death.
