BOISE — Idaho Fish & Game has opened a new 3D archery range in the foothills to allow archers a place to hone their skills in anticipation of hunting season.

The new range is located off of Highway 21 near Lucky Peak and it features 20 3D targets on a one-mile course.

"They hit a home run when they did this one," said Dave Haugen who was at the range with two of his grandchildren. "I stopped by the Fish & Game the other day to thank them."

The Idaho Fish & Game Boise River WMA told us this range was their way to say thanks to people who buy the hunting tags and fishing licenses which funds the Fish & Game's operation.

The small office also wanted to credit the community and the dozens of volunteers who spent two weekends helping them set up all the targets.

The range is open from sun up to sun down all the way until mid November.

To see what the range means to a family and how it will help them carrying the tradition of shooting like Robin Hood, check out the video.
