240k+ rainbow trout headed to Idaho's lakes and ponds in May

Idaho Fish & Game has announced that more than 240,000 catchable-sized rainbow trout are headed to Idaho's lakes, ponds, and reservoirs throughout May.

IDFG says that fishing for rainbow trout is a "great way to introduce budding anglers to the sport."

All a person needs to fish in Idaho is a valid fishing license. You can find additional information on how to get a license on the IDFG website.

PANHANDLE REGION—

  • Fernan Lake – 5,200 Rainbow Trout
  • Jewel Lake – 1,620 Rainbow Trout
  • Kelso Lake – 2,500 Rainbow Trout
  • Round Lake – 2,500 Rainbow Trout
  • Sinclair Lake – 450 Rainbow Trout
  • Smith Lake – 1,575 Rainbow Trout
  • Spicer Pond – 800 Rainbow Trout
  • Steamboat Pond – 900 Rainbow Trout

CLEARWATER REGION—

  • Campbells Pond – 2,000 Rainbow Trout
