While the man was not placed under arrest he was to be placed under Ada County Sheriff's custody following his medical examination. Deputies worked closely with Ada County prosecutors to create and then issue an arrest warrant specifying all the charges against Schroder.

Schroder is charged with felony counts of aggravated assault on law enforcement personnel, aggravated assault, possession of a controlled substance, eluding a peace officer, destruction of evidence, and misdemeanor counts of leaving the scene of an accident involving vehicle damage and resisting arrest in connection with the incident.
