TWIN FALLS, Idaho — Second South Market welcomed its vendors just over a month ago, and now, the owners are gearing up for the next phase of construction.

The new addition includes an outdoor seating area known as The Yard, giving people a place to sit, relax, and enjoy a beautiful day outside with food and drinks from the vendors inside.

The market hasn't been open long, but it's already becoming a well-established spot in downtown Twin Falls, attracting visitors with its local and varied offerings.

“We’re hoping we’re supporting the whole downtown area," said Dave Buddecke, 2nd South Market's owner. "I mean, our goal was to bring more people downtown and rising tides floats all boats. If we’re busy, hopefully, everybody else is too.”

The outdoor area will not only expand seating options at the market, but also offer features like a place for live music, games like cornhole, and a pet-friendly area.

“It is 14,000 square feet. We’re going to have fire pits, we’ll have a stage for live music, the container out there is full of picnic tables ready to go. It’s just a matter of waiting for the weather to get a little bit better,” said Buddecke.

The Yard won't open for awhile, but many people in Twin Falls are already lining up to take advantage of the space.

"Twin Falls doesn’t have many outdoor seating restaurants. I know we have Anchor which is amazing, but we don’t really have anything else outdoors so I’m excited for it. I think it will be great during the summer to get people together,” says Jessica Lund.

In the meantime, everyone is encouraged to go and try out the market.

“I think it’s important for everyone to come and support local businesses and to be able to do it in a food hall where there’s a lot of people here, especially during these times to reach out and support your community and invite friends and family because you can all hang out here. There is something for everyone,” Jodi Pugsley tells us.

Developers hope to have The Yard open and ready for use by early May.
