BOISE, Idaho — On Thursday, the City of Boise determined that the recent break of a geothermal line in downtown Boise will require additional repairs.
In order to allow crews to access the geothermal line, the two northern lanes on Myrtle Street will be closed until further notice. Capitol Boulevard is also temporarily closed between Myrtle and Broad Streets.

The City of Boise's downtown area has been heated by geothermal energy since 1983, and according to a recent release, crews are working to replace "the entire original system with new, leak-resistant pipes in the coming years."
The closure is estimated to be in place until Friday, October 3.
