CALDWELL — A longstanding tradition in Caldwell brought the community together on Saturday.

The 17th annual Indian Creek Festival continued Saturday with events like a car cruise, street dancing, food, chalk art, duck races and unusual kayak races.

Participants crafted themed boats made only of cardboard, paint, and duct tape. Participants each had their own strategy to win the race.

"We worked on it off-and-on for about two weeks, and our strategy is to cheat and play mean because that's how you win!" Caldwell resident Levi Cavene joked.

On October 19th, the great Downtown Pumpkin Festival and Boo Bash will take over the plaza with a pumpkin carving contest, pumpkin pie eating contest, and more.
