The Holiday season is a slow time of year for most of the Athletic programs at Boise State.  But not for the gymnastics team.

As others get ready for Christmas Bronco gymnasts are gearing up for the start of their season.

Boise State is coming off their second-straight MRGC title - and will once again enter the year as the highest ranked team in the MRGC.  The team was also voted the number 15th team in the country according to the preseason coaches’ poll but if ask Neil Resnick his team is gunning for more.

"We are every aware that 15th is not where we want to see ourselves in the preseason, especially since we are in the top 10 for most of the season last year during the regular season.  I think they will prove a point this year," said, Co-Head Coach Neil Resnick.

The Broncos return a wealth of talent from last year’s team and they also bring in five newcomers which are led by two of the most coveted recruits in program history; Courtney McGregor and Isabella Amado both competed in the 2016 Olympic games.  The duo is raising the bar for this year's squad.

"Some of our seniors stepped up this year that some of those Olympics are at times chasing them and that’s a good thing."

"If we can get as good as them you know that makes us look pretty cool too," said, Senior Mackenzie Bennion.

It hasn’t just been the success out on the floor they also excelled in the classroom as no athlete on the team has received less than B-grade so far this year.

“We don’t care about going out we literally dedicate our lives to being inside the gym and doing school work and I really feel like this will for sure be the best year of my life," said, Bennion.

Boise State will open their season on January 13th in Davis, California where they will face #11, Stanford.

An upset win would only move the Broncos higher in the rankings.
