The Ada County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that they are working on trying to identify human remains found in the Boise Foothills on Saturday, February 13th.

A woman who was walking her dogs on Sunset Peak Road found the remains about a mile from a Bureau of Land Management gate that closes the road to vehicles during winter.

The woman called dispatch just before 1:30 p.m. on Saturday to report what she found.

The remains appear to be of an adult.

The Ada County Coroner’s Office is examining the remains to determine the age, sex and identity.

Detectives don’t know yet how that person got there and what happened. It appears as if the remains have been there for an extended period of time.
