A vigil is planned for tomorrow night for the Boise police officer critically wounded in a shootout with a wanted man on Friday.

That officer hasn't been named yet and a post on the Boise Police Facebook page says his condition is improving every day, but it will be a long road to recovery.

That vigil is set for 6:30 p.m. tomorrow night at the Idaho Peace Officers Memorial.

Fundraising efforts are also underway to help that officer. A gofundme page has raised more than $30,000 since Saturday.

Donations are also being accepted at Mountain West Bank branches. Just say you'd like to donate to the Fraternal Order of Police - Treasure Valley Lodge #11 Benevolent Fund.

There are some positive developments for others injured in the shootout. Corporal Chris Davis is home after receiving treatment for a gunshot.

The police K9 wounded in the shooting, "Jardo,” has been released to his handler after undergoing surgery for his injuries.
