Christmas shoppers wanting to keep their money local went looking for deals on Small Business Saturday.
Entrepreneurs at two different plazas along State Street enticed customers with a scavenger hunt.
The owner of Serendipity Boutique Consignment Clothing says it's not the first time the business owners have come together to help each other out. She says supporting locals goes a long way to provide an environment where unique and diverse businesses can thrive.
"You see people that you recognize around in all the different shops, and it really is a sort of community type of feel, which is really nice," says Nadine Nicolayeff, owner of Serendipity Boutique Consignment Clothing. "It makes it a more enjoyable to go shopping."
Black Friday officially kicked off the holiday shopping season the day after Thanksgiving, and Cyber Monday is now just two days away.
