The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that two people have died in a plane crash at the Idaho and Wyoming border.

On January 4th at 4:24 pm , deputies were informed a plane had crashed in Bonneville County at the edge of Palisades Reservoir.

The plane was identified as a Yak 52 Russian trainer aircraft that was on a recreational flight out of the Alpine area with two people on board.

An adult male and a teenage female were found deceased at the scene of the crash.

Two other aircrafts were flying in the area of the crash with family of the victims on board.

The victims of the crash were 61-year-old Reade Genzlinger of Bryn Athyn, Pennsylvania and a 17-year-old female from Chapel Hill, North Carolina. 

Both of the victims were part-time residents of Alpine, Wyoming and Genzlinger was the owner of the aircraft.

The FAA is investigating and the cause of the crash is unknown.

The crash occurred two miles north of the runway of the Alpine Wyoming airport on the edge of Palisades Reservoir.
