Coeur d'Alene police are searching for the person who fired several shots at a pastor in a church parking lot.

Officials say Pastor Tim Remington was shot as many as six times, including in the head and lung, but is expected to pull through. Altar Church outreach pastor John Padula spoke with Remington's doctors and says the 55-year-old pastor is doing well.

Police say they have identified and are searching for a suspect, Kyle Odom, in the shooting but don't yet know of a motive.

Remington was shot just before 2 p.m. Sunday, the day after he prayed with presidential candidate Ted Cruz at a campaign rally in Coeur d'Alene.

Padula says Remington has been threatened several times by drug addicts he tried to help through his faith-based recovery program.

Odom was last seen driving a silver 2004 Honda Accord with Idaho plates K578519 west toward Spokane, Washington. If you see him or his car, call police.

Police say Odom, a decorated former Marine, has no criminal record but has a history of mental illness.
