An Oregon police officer accused of having sex with a Treasure Valley teen had his bond reduced by a judge in Canyon County court.

Michael Alexander spent nearly 20 years working in Oregon law enforcement before being arrested on two counts of felony lewd conduct with a minor under 16 and enticing a child through the internet.

Alexander is accused of contacting a fifteen-year-old boy using a cell phone app called “Grinder” and traveling to Idaho in order to have sex with him on two separate occasions in both June and September of 2015.

Alexander waived his preliminary hearing and had his bond reduced from $1,000,000 to $100,000.

If convicted, Alexander could spend the rest of his life behind bars.

Alexander is scheduled to appear in court for a plea hearing on April 29th.
