Nyssa man arrested for stabbing girlfriend in the neck

PAYETTE, ID—A man was arrested and charged with Aggravated Domestic Battery after he stabbed his girlfriend in the neck.

On August 17th, 2016, at about 3:00 a.m., the Payette County dispatch received an anonymous phone call stating a female had been stabbed in the neck and taken from a home. No other details were given.

Later that same morning a local hospital called saying they received a call from someone inquiring if a woman with a stab wound to the neck had been admitted, there had not.

Payette police were able to able to Identify the suspect and victim, they were also able to locate the two at a residence in Payette County.

Officers set up a security perimeter around the location and called out the Tactical Response Team. But prior to their arrival the suspect and victim were seen leaving the residence in a white Saturn car.

Officers conducted a felony traffic stop in Payette City and arrested the suspect, Christopher Padilla, 40, of Nyssa, Oregon.

The 40-year-old female victim was taken to Saint Luke’s hospital in Fruitland. She was suffering from a serious knife wound to the neck. She was treated and released later that day.

The female is said to be the suspect's girlfriend.

Padilla was charged with felony Aggravated Domestic Battery, and arraigned in Payette County court on Thursday morning.
