Nampa Police: Body found inside car on fire

A male body was found inside a car on fire early Sunday morning.

On May 1 at 3:38 a.m., Nampa Fire and Nampa Police responded to a vehicle on fire in the parking lot of the apartment complex located at Victory Road and Sugar Avenue in Nampa.

After extinguishing the fire, the officer located the body of an adult male inside the passenger compartment of the vehicle.

Investigators are currently working to identify this person. The vehicle that was found to be on fire was a maroon 1998 Volvo sedan.

At this time, the cause of the fire and the cause of death are under investigation. Detectives are treating this as a suspicious death.

According to the police, at least two unknown citizens were on scene when fire personnel arrived. Nampa Police investigators would like to speak with those persons.
