More details emerging nearly 48 hours after a home invasion ended in a house fire just south of Meridian.

The Ada County Sheriff's Office has released the names of the two officers involved in Wednesday night's gun battle -- Deputy Chris Matkin and Kuna Police Officer Sage Hickam.

"Our deputies engaged the suspect when they arrived on scene here, at the location," said Ada County Sheriff Steve Bartlett. "At that time, there were multiple gunshots...rounds...that were fired."

Officials say standard protocol is three days of administrative leave, though that will be up to the discretion of both officers and their captain.

In the meantime, the Ada County Coroner is working to identify the two bodies recovered from the burned wreckage.

Law enforcement saying they strongly believe one of the bodies was the prowler.

"We have not been able to 100 percent confirm that the person, or the remains that are inside the residence, are that of our suspect from the shooting," Bartlett said.

Investigators would like to hear from anyone who noticed anything suspicious in the Linder/Amity Roads neighborhood over the last several days.
