The Ada County Coroner's Office has identified a man who drowned in the Boise River on April 21st, 2016.

Michael Patrick Rhodes, 69, died at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center after being rescued by crews from the Boise River between 40th and 41st Street.

The Boise Fire Department launched its rescue boat and pulled the man from the water and began first aid.

Officers aren't sure at this time where Rhodes first went into the water.

After the incident police have a warning for the public.

"The Boise River water level is extremely high and flowing very fast at this time.  Even though the water may look appealing right now it is very deceiving and dangerous.  Please avoid the Boise River until the water levels are reduced.  The current water levels make rescue difficult and dangerous for first responders," said Lt. Tom Patterson from the Garden City Police Department.
