Police have charged four men in connection with the death of 49-year old Nampa resident Steven Nelson.

The Canyon County Sheriff's Office said Nelson was lured to Lake Lowell where the men jumped him. Nelson died as a result of his attack Friday morning. On Saturday, police said he may have been lured to the lake by an online petition for sex.

At a press conference held Saturday, Canyon County Sheriff Kieran Donahue said he doesn't believe this to be an isolated incidence. In fact they are looking for others to come forward with information to help with this investigation. Officers said Nelson solicited sex online with a stranger through a website. That's what brought him to Lake Lowell. When Nelson got out out of the car, they said he was ambushed by several individuals, beaten, robbed and left for dead.

Before Nelson's passing, he was able to describe in detail information about his attack. Which led investigators to the arrest of four people within hours of the attack.Investigators said they don't believe that this attack is the first one done by the accused individuals. They said there are probably a lot of others who have gone through similar experiences out there..

"I dont want the victims out there being concerned with coming forward because they are fearful of being prosecuted for solicitation for sex We are centered on the individuals who are victimizing those people who are on the internet making those solicitations" said Donahue.

This investigation is still ongoing. They are asking anyone with any information regarding this incident or others like it to call the Canyon County Sheriff's Office.
