Family and friends of Ruben Gonzales, 53, of Nampa are searching stretches of the Boise River today, after receiving reports over the weekend that Ruben went missing.

“Some reports say he was seen near the Boise River, other reports say he may have fallen into the river,” said Lisa Gonzales of Nampa, the missing man’s sister-in-law.

Ruben was last known to be staying at the Interfaith Sanctuary.

Checks with the area homeless shelters and hospitals have not turned up anything, Lisa Gonzales said.

Ruben is described as Hispanic, 5-feet 7-inches tall, about 125 pounds, with brown eyes and a possibly a shaven head. Relatives say he has a tattoo on his left arm with the word “Sandy.”

Boise Police spokesperson Haley Williams confirmed the Department’s bicycle patrol officers and micro district officers  in the downtown Boise area have been searching for Gonzales  since Saturday. “They have been looking in all of his last known locations and the surrounding area,” she said.

Anyone with information about the missing man is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS.
