Black Friday shoppers camp out in Boise

John Rooney spent his Thanksgiving in line at Cabela's in Boise.

"Everyone just thinks I am crazy.," said Rooney.

Rooney won't go shopping on an empty stomach.

"My wife just brought me a cheeseburger then she will bring me a turkey dinner. 
she will bring me a coffee," said Rooney

After his Thanksgiving meal, the Idaho man will start mapping out his Christmas list.

"You got to get what you want because the stuff goes quick," said Rooney

The professional shopper hopes to be the first person in the store come Friday morning.

"As soon as I go through the door the budget goes out the window. There's a lot of stuff in here that I like boots, telescopes, the crossbow."

In the end, Rooney will probably save himself something along the lines of  $300. Rooney doesn't do this for the savings, but more for the experience.

So how is he passing his time? He eats, sleeps and chats with his fellow line buddies. 

Rooney said he plans on carrying out the tradition for as long as he can.
