Police have identified the man injured, and arrested, following an officer-involved shooting in Ada County.

Kenneth Morehouse faces an aggravated assault charge after police say he pointed a gun at an Ada County Sheriff’s deputy.

Investigators say police were called to a home on the 6200 block of West Long Branch in north Ada County just after 2:45 p.m. to check on a man who a family member said had threatened to hurt himself.

Officers say when they got on scene the man and another person were inside the home.  That’s when officers say Morehouse pointed the gun at a deputy and the deputy fired at the man, hitting him once in the shoulder.

Morehouse was treated and released from a local hospital and has been booked into the Ada County Jail on the aggravated assault charge.

Deputy Cory Feldman, who opened fire on Morehouse, has been with the Ada County Sheriff’s Office since 2001.

The shooting is now under investigation by the Ada County Critical Incident Task Force.  Boise Police will lead the investigation.
