The delicious fragrances of Bath and Body Works’ candles makes them hard to pass up, especially when you can get a deal on them. When you use them up, you might be reluctant to toss the perfectly good glass jar. Good news! You don’t have to. Check out these creative uses for empty candle holders to find some inspiration.

1. Make a Fairy Night Light

Stuff a string of micro LED lights into a clean candle jar. Either use battery-operated lights or allow the end to hang out of the top to plug them in. If you are handy with tools, you could even drill a small hole near the bottom to string them through and plug them in without an unsightly cord showing. If you wish, paint or decorate the lid before replacing it on the jar.

2. Show Off A Collection

If you collect relatively small objects, you can display and protect them individually in the lidded glass jars. Instagram user @bandbwaddict shared this collection. These baseballs fit perfectly!

“And how about this jar reuse?!?” she posted. “My son’s Home Run Baseball display.”

3. Craft a Snow Globe

Glue a small ornament or decorations to the lid of an empty candle jar. Fill the jar about one-quarter full with clear school glue. Add as much glitter as you wish. Fill the jar the rest of the way with water. Hot glue the lid in place and make sure it doesn’t leak before turning it upside down to enjoy the show.

4. Make Homemade Potpourri

Use ingredients such as dried flowers, orange peels, cinnamon sticks and cloves to make your own potpourri. Place it in an empty candle jar to enjoy the fragrance in any room. Or give it to someone as a thoughtful homemade gift.

5. Create A Stunning Centerpiece

Paint, bedazzle or otherwise adorn an empty Bath and Body Works candle jar to make a small but striking decor piece. Ashley Jackson shared her glitterfied jar on Instagram at @mrs.jacksonn_.

“Gonna add some gold ribbon to this for a mini vase centerpiece for the table,” wrote Jackson.

6. Organize Your Craft Area

Whether you have an entire craft room or just a corner of your home where you keep crafting odds and ends, upcycled jars can help you keep it tidy. Instagrammer Tahnee Davis of the Etsy shop Lane & Alley Boutique (@laneandalleyboutique) shared her idea.

“I’m still trying to find the perfect storage for my washi tape,” she posted, “but until I do, I like storing them in these candle jars!”

7. Design Festive Luminaries

Paint the jar with a holiday design and embellish as desired. Place a votive candle inside and use it as a luminary. Alternatively, you could fill it with essential oils, lemon and rosemary to make a non-toxic insect-repelling luminary.

8. Give Succulents A Home

Cacti and other succulents are easy to care for and affordable to obtain. Make them even more budget-friendly by using empty candle cars as pots, just as Kait, with the appropriate Instagram handle @_pretty_fly_for_a_cacti_, did.

“Since it’s going to be a while before I take another long vacation, let’s see if I can keep these alive,” she posted.

9. Create Ambient Lighting

Dining al fresco? Dress up your patio or backyard with a collection of empty candle jars. Hot glue jute twine around the rim of the jar, wrapping it around two or three times. Tie a length of twine to create a loop at the top. Place small pebbles inside the jar, if desired, and set some tea light candles in the jars. Hang from a branch or awning.

10. Dress Them Up

Whatever you want to store in them, why not embellish them a bit? If you have access to a die cutting machine, you can decorate jars as Tifinie Ellis did with her fun and adorable hair accessory jar.

“Oh cricut 😍 #Cricut #Bathandbodyworkscandlejar,” Ellis wrote on her Instagram post.

You’re inspired now, right? Let’s see you upcycle your glass candle jars!
