TREASURE VALLEY — More businesses in the Treasure Valley are offering on the job benefits and things that make the work environment more enjoyable.

Shaun buck, CEO of The Newsletter Pro believes a positive work culture is crucial to his business. A giant, custom made map that hangs on their wall tracks their progress toward a three year mission. If they hit their goal at the end of 2020, the team will be rewarded.

"We'll fly them all to Las Vegas for a long weekend. We'll close down for a day. We'll go Friday, Saturday, come home Sunday," said Buck.

Buck says employees are able to choose the time of day they work and when they go to lunch within certain hours.

Amy Bailey with Intuit says giving employees the opportunity to have some fun during the workday, they'll do better work.

"You're here most of your life, you know 40 hours a week plus and I think you have to enjoy what you're doing and you have to be very passionate about it. We have a ton of focus on our customers and again, it just adds to that connection at work to," said Bailey.

Intuit offers a wellness benefit that employees can use on gym memberships or even to buy workout equipment. A space downstairs allows employees to not only have lunch but play ping-pong and go outside to work.

"We've grown around 60 percent since our acquisition 18 months ago," said Bailey.

Both organizations say they offer programs for financial, educational, and emotional support. Buck says it's something that benefits everyone involved.

"What you have to remember is that happy team members or employees make happy customers because your team members are taking care of your customers," said Buck.
