The Boise State coaching tree continues to change. Earlier this week we reported that offensive coordinator Eliah Drinkwitz moved on to North Carolina State to take the same position.
Thayer Evans of Sports Illustrated is reporting that defensive coordinator Marcel Yates is on the move to Arizona to coach the Wildcats in the same position.
Yates has spent the last two seasons at Boise State.. Yates helped lead the Broncos to Number 20 in the country in yards per play while holding opponents to a third down rate of just 30 percent which is 10th best in the nation.
This year Boise State also ranked 5th in both forced turnovers and rushing defense. The former Bronco came back to the city of trees in 2014 to take over the BSU defense after working as a co-defensive coordinator at Texas A&M.
Losing both Yates and Drinkwitz will cost the Broncos two of the best in recruiting and is even more crucial with signing day coming up on February 3rd.
