The Boise State Broncos have announced this year's team captains announced today on Coach Harsin's twitter page. Coach Harsin went with 2 juniors and a senior.
No real surprises for the team's captains wide receiver Cedrick Wilson, quarterback Brett Rypien, and linebacker Leighton Vander Esch are picked as team captains for this season. It's Rypien's second nod at being named a team captain.
The Broncos plan practice is in game mode this week as they get set for their season opener versus Troy. The competition at running back is at an all-time high.
The team wrapped up camp this past week and Alexander Mattison missed the last couple of fall practices. However, Coach Harsin says he should be ready to go by the beginning of the season.
With Mattison out, Ryan Wolpin has been getting extra time with the number one offense.
"Ryan Wolpin has done well. Alexander Mattison has had a few things that have kept him out but he will get the opportunity to come back. Robert Mahone is getting more reps, Drake Beasley is getting more reps,” said, Head Coch Bryan Harsin.
This season fans will have more tailgate opportunities as the school will open Dechevrieux field, the Broncos’ grass practice facility, as a tailgating option for 2017 home football games. The tailgating zone on Bronco circle will feature covered tent locations for pregame parties, corporate events or personal tailgates.
The practice field is just 100 yards from the athletic ticket office and entrances on the west side of the stadium.
Locations within the tailgating zone on Bronco circle will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis for individual games. We are pleased to accommodate season sales as well, based on availability.
Pricing for spaces are as follows, and include the dimensions listed with a tent, tables, and chairs, in addition to a grass area in front of the entrance to your location and two parking passes for the game in the Lincoln parking garage near Dechevrieux field.
· $850 per game for a 10' x 20' space
· $1,250 per game for a 10'x 40' space
· $2,200 per game for a 10' x 80' space
As it relates to food and beverage, the tailgating zone on Bronco Circle will feature similar policies for spots within the Albertsons stadium parking lot, meaning your own food and drink can be brought in. The one exception is that no live-flame grills or barbecues will be allowed in the tailgate zone area.
