Boise State tight end Jake Roh was named to the preseason watch list for the John Mackey Award, given annually to the nation's top tight end.
Roh is the first Boise State tight end named to the Mackey Award watch list since 2013. Roh, a redshirt junior from Scottsdale, Ariz., is one of 45 tight ends from around the country named to the list, and one of just four from the Mountain West.
He was named to the All-Mountain West Second Team last season after earning All-Mountain West honorable mention in 2014.
Roh has appeared in all 27 of Boise State’s contests over the past two seasons, including 20 starts. Last year he finished second among Mountain West tight ends with 33 receptions.
Roh joins Boise State quarterback Brett Rypien and running back Jeremy McNichols as 2016 preseason watch list members. Rypien and McNichols were named to the watch list for the Maxwell Award Tuesday morning.
