The Potato Bowl both teams held their press conference today at the Allen Noble hall of fame.
Both teams enter this game on opposite sides of the spectrum, the Aggies have been in a bowl game each of their past five seasons. Utah State has also played in the Potato Bowl all but two of those years.
Akron’s seniors endured a 1-11 season as Freshman and the program hasn’t been to a bowl game in a decade. Akron also has a top 25 defense that's keeping Aggies head coach Matt Wells paying attention.
"You look at their defense and their front seven on defense and they’ve got five out of seven that are seniors. Four of them are division one transfers and then you have the MAC defensive player of the year. They are very very strong.” Said Matt Wells Utah State head coach.
"We know we have an excellent opponent who is much more experienced than us at this point at bowl games. For five straight years they have gone to a bowl game and that’s where we want to be.” Said Terry Bowden Akron head coach.
