Friday’s game against New Mexico won’t see cornerback Jonathan Moxey on the field, he was suspended for the first half of this week’s game after his hit on a Utah State receiver resulted in targeting.
With the Moxey ejection happening in the second half, NCAA rules have ordered him to sit out for the first half of the Lobo’s game.
Coach Harsin elaborated today that Moxey will be in full pads sitting in the locker room, and added that he did everything he could to win the appeal with the NCAA.
"I made a lot of phone calls this week and sent a lot of emails. I think the appeals take a step back and just go ‘hey was this right was the intent there for that to happen?’ Because I think there is targeting and ones that aren't," said Head Coach Bryan Harsin.
