Boise State’s wrestling program was part of the university since 1959.  It had just three coaches the past 46 seasons.

Overall the school had 16 conference championships and two individual NCAA champions.

I caught up with former wrestler Levi Jones who ranked as high as third in the country during his Bronco career and was a member of three Pac-12 Championship teams.

Jones says it has been a tough pill to swallow.

“Quite a few emotions came to me and my heart as soon as I heard I was speechless.  There has been 11 all-Americans and four national finalists, and way beyond that, it has been a community and a family built on character.  The part that hurts the most is you kind of hope that you're sending these guys off with the right tools for life,” said, Former Wrestler Levi Jones.

There is a go fund me page to save the wrestling program as well as a petition started by former Boise State wrestler Kevin Woods.  The petition has over 1500 signatures.
