There have been less than 100 football players that have had their head football coach also be their dad. Idaho is now a part of that group as Paul Petrino will coach his son this football season.
Mason gets the rare chance of being coached by his dad at receiver and at quarterback. Coach Petrino says that he has embraced the chance to coach his son.
"He kinda has to handle both meetings. He meets with the quarterbacks and the receivers and then spends some extra time with me but he is going to be a football coach when he is done. It is just nice having him out there every day and coaching him every day. It's just good to be around him, it's a very good deal.” said, Head Coach Paul Petrino.
