The Broncos took on Illinois in the 2nd round of the NIT.  It was just third ESPN appearance for the Broncos in nearly 20 years.

A win and the Broncos would face UCF this coming Wednesday.  Boise State was firing on all cylinders in the first half hitting six three-pointers but then the wheels came off missing 14 in the second half and the Fighting Illini caught steam and turned their one-point deficit at the break into a 71 to 56 victory over Boise State.

The Illini ended the game on a 22-6 run to close out the game.  Junior guard Chandler Hutchison who had 34 points in round one of the NIT finished the game with 17 points to lead Boise State in scoring.

Senior Forward Nick Duncan who played his final game added 12 points finishing his career 14th all-time in score history and 2nd in wins.

With the loss, the Broncos close out the season with a 20 and 12 record.
