The Idaho Vandals are in the thick of spring camp and will hold their first scrimmage this Saturday at the Kibbie Dome.

Idaho is entering the second year under Mike Breske on Defense and they are hoping to achieve more this season.

The Vandals allowed 42 points a game and were tied fifth most at the FBS level.  Idaho also had just 13 sacks last season and it was their lowest total since 2008.

Coach Breske is hoping that with the experience and depth it should give them a better chance.

“This group most of these guys have had a lot reps in the system and understand the terminology.  We are tinkering a little bit but for the most part, they understand what we want,” said, Defensive Coordinator Mike Breske.

Coach Breske says with the mixture of players they have on defense that it has added to the team's comradery.

“Right now we are developing our chemistry with this core and when our income freshman and our transfers get in this summer that will just add to it," said, Breske.

The Vandals first scrimmage is Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Kibbie Dome with the second April 21 at Lewiston's Bengal Field at 5:30 p.m. Spring ball wraps up with the Silver and Gold Game/Vandal Reunion on April 28 at 6 p.m. at the Kibbie Dome.
