A sweep in the men’s 1500m and five event victories capped a successful day for the Boise State track and field team at the Border Clash, the team’s lone home outdoor meet this season.

Sophomore Andrew Rafla (3:50.85) led freshman Elijah Armstrong (3:53.14) and sophomore Louis McAfee (3:55.49) to sweep the top three places in the men’s 1500m.

Tansey Lystad took second in the women’s 1500m with a time of 4:37.06. Sarah Hastings (4:43.08) and Gracie Tostenson (4:44.95) finished fourth and sixth, respectively.

Redshirt sophomore Dusty Fisher brought home a pair of victories in the 200m and 400m dashes in 21.11 and 47.58, respectively. Both times are outdoor bests for Fisher. Fisher’s 200m time currently ranks him 48th in the west region, just inside the qualifying zone for NCAA West Regionals.

Fisher led a 1-2-4 finish for the Bronco men in the 200m dash. Sophomore Alexandru Terpezan was second in 21.26 while Bryce Kirby finished fourth in 21.46.

Boise State has a trio of runners – Alexis Fuller, Minttu Hukka and Brenna Peloquin – competing at the Payton Jordan Invite in Stanford, Calif., tomorrow evening. Following that, the Broncos will likely next be in action at the 2016 Mountain West Outdoor Track and Field Championships, May 11-14 in Fresno, Calif.
