Switching to the hardwood Boise State senior center Miquelle Askew has earned her third Mountain West women's basketball player of the week honor this season. It was announced by the league today,
Askew led the Broncos to a sweep last week rallying Boise State from being down by 13 points to a 78-75 victory at San Jose State. She also helped the blue and orange beat Wyoming 58-49 in Boise on Saturday.
On the week averaged 25.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.0 blocks and 1.5 steals per game shot 66.7 percent from the floor and 77.8 percent from the free-throw line.
In the win at San Jose State she kept the Broncos in the game while the team struggled scoring she finished the game with a double-double scoring 50 percent of the team’s points with a career-high 39 points and a career-tying 13 rebounds to go with two assists and career-high three steals shot 72.7 percent from the floor and 77.8 percent from the floor.
This is the fourth player of the week honor for the team this year. The Broncos have won four straight and face UNLV at home this Wednesday night.
