Shalen Shaw just missed her first double-double of the season leading Boise State with 17 points and nine rebounds as the Broncos rolled past Southern Oregon 89-45 in the season opener Sunday afternoon at Taco Bell Arena.
Shaw led Boise State by shooting 57 percent from the floor hitting 8-of-14 shots with one 3-pointer. In addition to scoring a team-high 17 points, she grabbed a team-best nine rebounds.
Boise State shot 49.3 percent as a team from the floor, hit 38.5 percent from beyond the arc. The Broncos out-rebounded the Raiders 58-to-30 and held a 25-to-13 advantage in offensive rebounds which resulted in Boise State outscore SOU 26-to-4 in second chance points.
