ESPN’s Brett McMurphy is reporting that seventeen schools are sending their pitches to the Big 12 regarding possible expansion.
And Boise State is on that list, with fellow Mountain West Members Colorado State and New Mexico. BYU is also on the list. McMurphy is also reporting that the league is looking to make it a 12-team conference.
"Their best chance is if the big 12 expands it by four schools. But what I've been told it’s less and less likely that they are going to add four schools, it looks like they will add two schools or they will stay with their current ten team membership. I have no idea what the presidents are going to do, but if you ask me to make a prediction. They will go with Houston and Cincinnati," said Mcmurphy.
