This week, news broke that Boise State along with several other schools- have been linked to pitch their case to join the big 12. The initial response is positive: the Broncos would be in a bigger conference, with greater chances at playing in the Big 12 conference.
The downside of this new development? The road trips for Boise State would become extremely long. The current setup for the Big 12 shows the Broncos with no close travel partner. Six On Your Side caught up with ESPN College Football Insider Brett McMurphy. He says that the distance will be a big hurdle for Boise State.
"One thing that works against them is geography. Already got West Virginia out on an island out on the east coast, so adding Boise I would have to think they would bring in another Western school in the mix as a travel partner for them. That’s why I think their best chance is to have four schools added, not two schools." said McMurphy.
