The 19th ranked Boise State gymnastics team gets set to open up the season tomorrow in Tri meet at University of California, Davis. The defending Mountain Rim conference champions have high hopes for this season.
The Broncos return five gymnasts who earned six combined all MRGC honors last season. The team also returns four seniors. This summer all of the girls participated in voluntary summer workouts which has them amped and ready for this year.
"Fitness wise i feel like the whole team is in a great position gymnastically, everyone looks really good and i think the training we did this summer was really important.” said, Senior Maddie Krentz.
" I believe this is the year we can go all the way and break some records. We started bringing our skills out earlier and made sure we were more prepared. We have done the conditioning in the gym and outside the gym. We made sure we were more physically and mentally ready this year.” said, Senior Krystine Jacobsen.
Coach Neil Resnick enters his ninth season at the helm. In his time the Broncos have finished 8 times in the top 25.
"Our goal is to make bronco history. Every year we've been here, the last nine years we have done something, we've broken a scoring record, scoring average, a placement, a conference championship, and we want to end up in the Top 12." said, Co-Head Coach Neil Resnick.
The highest finish Boise State has ever had was 13th missing the 12th spot by just .25 which has been the team's calling card heading into this season.
"Whenever things aren't going right all i have to mention is zero two five and it re-motivates our crew. " said, Resnick.
The Broncos will kick off their season tomorrow at University of California, Davis at 8:00 P.M
