Marta Hermida’s career-high 20 points was not enough to lead the Broncos to victory as Boise State lost 70-60 to New Mexico Wednesday night in Taco Bell Arena. Boise State opened the game on a 8-3 run, then watched as the Lobos took momentum on a 24-6 run.

Herimda used a career-best five made 3-pointers to help her reach the career-high 20 points. She shot 6-of-11 from the floor, 5-of-7 from beyond the arc and a perfect 3-for-3 from the free-throw line. The freshman from Madrid, Spain, added five rebounds and one block in 39 minutes of action.

Brooke Pahukoa regained her shooting touch against the Lobos going 4-of-6 from the 3-point line as she finished the night with 16 points, four rebounds, two assists and one steal.

Miquelle Askew scored 10 of her 15 points in the second quarter powered by 9-of-10 shooting from the free-throw line. The senior added five rebounds, one block and three steals in 32 minutes.

Boise State will take the weekend off with a bye before returning to action on Wednesday at UNLV.
