The Boise State men's basketball team will hit the hardwood for the first time this season on Monday, after making it to the second round of the NIT last season. The Broncos finished the year with their fifth consecutive 20-win season.

Last season was the first time in program history that the Broncos were able to pick up a postseason win when they beat Utah in the first round of the NIT.

The blue and orange said goodbye to Nick Duncan and James Reid and Paris Austin who transferred to the University of California.

Coach Rice still has Chandler Hutchison and plenty of youth in the mix and says this team will be very enjoyable to coach this year.

"I just love this team that we have the personalities are just terrific and the guys care about each other.  This might be one of our best teams as far as playing together and doing their job and understanding their job,” said Head Coach Leon Rice.

The Boise State Women’s basketball team have been able to play in the NCAA tournament in two of the past three seasons.

Coach Presnell will have to find a pair of threats this year with the team losing their leading scorer with Brooke Pahukoa and guard Yaiza Rodriguez.

The team does bring back Shay Shaw and Marijke Vanderschaaf who were big contributors a season ago.  With those two it adds more confidence for Coach Presnell.

“We had a great season last year and we have a good nucleus coming back.  We are a young team but we have an experienced team.  We have Shay Shaw coming back for her senior year.  She has a chance of being the person to go to three NCAA tournaments.   We have a lot of goals set for her.  She also has the chance to end in the top 10 for scoring, rebounding, and assists,” said Head Coach Gordy Presnell.
