Boise native Aleksa Davis won a gold medal and helped set a new national record last week at the 2015 U.S. Parachute Association National Collegiate Parachuting Championships.
The competition drew more than 100 collegiate skydivers from around the country—the biggest Collegiate Nationals in six years.
Davis and her team won gold in the 6-way speed formation skydiving event, in which the team leaps from an aircraft and tries to build a pre-designated formation in the fastest time possible. Davis’ team also set a new national record by completing a formation in a blazing 5.91 seconds, the first time ever a team has surpassed the six-second mark.
