CUSTER COUNTY, ID — Around 11 a.m. on Friday, the Custer County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a four-year-old girl being pulled from Redfish Lake.

Police say bystanders were performing CPR. The girl was taken to St. Luke's Wood River Hospital in Ketchum, then flown to Boise Medical Center where she later died.

An overturned kayak was found in the water and a pair of mens boots were found on the bank near the scene.

Using sonar, Idaho Fish and Game detected what they believed to be a body about 55 feet deep in the water.

The Custer County Sheriff's Office says a dive team from Bingham County recovered the body at about 10:40 a.m. Saturday.

An investigation is still ongoing and police say they will not release names until next of kin is notified.
