BOISE — Treasure Valley families are remembering and celebrating the lives of their loved ones for Dia De Los Muertos.

"Day of the Dead" is a two-day holiday, originating in Mexico, where families decorate altars with pictures and favorite items of loved ones who have passed away.

Altars were created by community schools and organizations and put on display at JUMP.

"We all have someone that we've lost at some point in our lives. It's just kind of important to remember it's not about, you know, losing somebody. It's about remembering the good things that happened."

There was also a panel discussion about the history and meaning of the holiday.
