POCATELLO, Nampa — A Pocatello man is in custody and facing felony drug trafficking charges after police say they found heroin, cocaine and meth in his possession after a traffic stop.
The Bonneville County Sheriff's Office says a deputy pulled over 53-year-old John H. Ahmann in Idaho Falls at around 9:00 p.m. on January 12.
Authorities say a second deputy, responding to the scene, noticed Ahmann handling and then concealing a handgun. The deputies ordered the man to drop the gun and get out of the car. They say, when he complied, they handcuffed him.
Police say a search of the vehicle turned up the handgun in question. As they patted Ahmann down, police say they found as several grams of suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia.
Back at the station, police say a separate pat down of Ahmann yielded suspected crack cocaine and methamphetamine. Officers say the suspect admitted to selling narcotics before the traffic stop.
Ahmann was booked into the Bonneville County Jail for felony drug trafficking, and felony counts of trafficking in heroin, cocaine, and methamphetamine.
