Despite the fact that Idaho is known as the white water state, the cost of rafting gear or going with a guide can be expensive. Which prevents many kids from being able to enjoy the rush of floating one of Idaho's greatest experiences.

Because of the high costs, the YMCA has partnered with Canyon County Paramedics and the Caldwell Police Department to give kids a chance to experience whitewater rafting on the Payette river.

In addition to the YMCA's partnership, Cascade River and Kayak generously took a group of kids down the river for free.

One of the best parts of the Payette river is the variety of different runs. The more adventurous paddlers can take trips down the south fork of the Payette, which includes the Canyon Run, and people without rafting experience can take other runs.
