UPDATE: Worker taken to hospital after wall panel falls near St. Luke's

BOISE, Idaho — UPDATE: One person was taken to the hospital by ambulance for foot injuries. Their condition has not been released as of 7:45 Friday morning.

A construction crane operator was called to lift the 2,000 pound wall panel that fell on the worker's foot.

ORIGINAL: Boise Fire Department rescue crews are right now on the scene of an industrial accident –- where a worker is trapped in a trench.

It’s happening at the intersection of Second and Fort Streets in Boise, near St. Luke’s hospital.

Fire Department spokesperson Char Jackson says a retaining wall has fallen on the worker’s foot and is trapping him in the trench.

She emphasized the trench has not collapsed.

Drivers are being asked to avoid the area.
