Scentsy is launching a 12-hour, community-wide Rock-a-Thon. On Friday, Sept. 7th, from 8AM - 8PM, 70 rocking chairs will be lined up on the Scentsy property along Eagle Rd. and will be rocking to raise money for the Women’s and Children’s Alliance. It's a fun, playful way YOU can get involved with helping a local organization. Scentsy is donating $250 per chair, per hour. That is $210,000! Come help keep the chairs in motion! More info here!
Art In The Park

Boise Art Museum’s Art in the Park is widely recognized as one of the premiere cultural events in the Northwest. This open-air festival, held on the weekend following Labor Day each September, provides visitors of all ages and interests with the opportunity to meet more than 200 artists and purchase their works. During the three-day event, Boise Art Museum presents a variety of contemporary arts and crafts along with an exceptional array of live entertainment, park performances, wonderful food and hands-on activities for children. Come be a part of Meridian Art Week! The theme for this year’s High School Chalk Art Competition is: Art in the Future. Drawing will start promptly at 6 and will be stopped at 8. During the Chalk Art Competition, Samuel Henry will play music at the plaza and the Meridian Arts Commission will host a community painting activity. Participants will randomly pick a piece of a picture and then paint that segment on a large board. More info here!

To cap off a full day of fun and fundraising, there will be a SPECTACULAR FIREWORKS SHOW at 9PM! Parking at Scentsy Commons for the fireworks show starts at 7PM and costs $10 a carload. You can earn a parking pass by participating earlier in the day in the Rock-a-Thon. All parking proceeds will go to the Women’s and Children’s Alliance. This night will be filled with food trucks, live music and more for the whole family to enjoy. Bring your low back chair or blanket and come celebrate an amazing day of summer giving. More info here!

The Eagle Saturday Market is a community market located in the heart of downtown Eagle, in Heritage Park. Managed by the City of Eagle Parks and Recreation Department, one will find an array of arts and crafts along with local produce, herbs and flowers, woodwork, specialty food items and freshly prepared food. Every Saturday the park comes alive with the melodious sounds of local musicians and community members coming together to support local micro-producers. More info here!

Gooding Farms are filling three school buses with smiling faces, plenty of beer and heading out west to Wilder for a guided tour of the family hop farm during harvest. Join members of 350 SW Idaho, PODER of Idaho, IORC, Idaho Sierra Club, and Citizens Climate Lobby to march down Capitol Boulevard, then rally at Boise City Hall as part of the global Rise for Climate, Jobs and Justice Mobilization. This global day of action marks the Climate Action Summit taking place in San Francisco. Four short presentations will empower and inspire you to create climate solutions in your community.
