CALDWELL, Idaho — September will be cat month at the West Valley Humane Society (WVHS)... unofficially!

The organization is launching the start of its community cat program.

It's designed to prioritize spaying, neutering, and vaccinating all cats that come into their care and returning them to their communities.

According to Kierra Larson of the WVHS said that community involvement is an essential part of protecting Idaho's felines.

"The only way for us to stop the overpopulation in Canyon County is for our community to partner with us and to work with us on this community cat program so we can stop the overpopulation and the preventable illnesses that are going around with our felines," she said.
